xCompact Outdoor Airflow Without Adding Another Light
Greyen is a compact 20-inch hanging fan designed for patios, porches, pergolas, gazebos and other outdoor areas where a full-size ceiling fan would take up too much space. The matte-black metal cage surrounds three ABS blades and keeps the moving blade assembly contained inside the fixture.
A 3-speed AC motor gives you low, medium and high airflow settings, with published airflow up to 4300 CFM. Greyen uses a 9-foot plug-in cord instead of a traditional hardwired power connection and does not include a light, remote or smart controls.
Greyen at a Glance
IPX4 Protection for Outdoor Living Areas
Greyen carries an IPX4 rating and is identified in the product documentation for wet-rated outdoor use. The housing and fan assembly are designed to handle moisture, humidity and splashing water encountered around outdoor living spaces.
We recommend planning the installation around the actual roof coverage, outlet location and weather exposure of your patio, porch, gazebo or pergola. The power connection should always meet the electrical requirements for the installation location.
Metal Cage Around Three Compact ABS Blades
The round metal grille surrounds the complete blade area instead of leaving the blades exposed beyond the fixture. Inside the cage are three black ABS blades measuring approximately 7.6 inches long by 4.54 inches wide.
Each blade uses a 14° pitch. The enclosed shape also gives Greyen more of a hanging industrial fan appearance than a conventional residential ceiling fan.
Three Fan Speeds With a Simple Mechanical Dial
Greyen keeps the controls straightforward. A rotary dial on the underside of the fan provides Off plus three operating speeds, so there is no remote to pair, charge or keep track of.
Fan Control
- 0 — Fan off
- 1 — Low speed
- 2 — Medium speed
- 3 — High speed
This model does not include a remote, timer, app or smart-home control.
Plug-In Power With a 9-Foot Cord
Instead of connecting the motor directly to a traditional ceiling-fan circuit, Greyen uses a 9-foot plug-in power cord. Once the fan has been mounted securely, the cord connects to a compatible outlet.
The plug-in design simplifies the power connection, but the ceiling mounting point still needs to be installed securely. Always plan the cord route so it does not contact the fan cage, blades or other moving components.
Made for Patios, Porches, Gazebos & Pergolas
The 20-inch cage keeps Greyen compact enough for smaller outdoor seating areas, covered walkways, gazebo corners and porch spaces where a wide 42- or 52-inch fan may not fit comfortably.
We do not recommend selecting this fan by a fixed square-foot number alone. Ceiling height, the location of the seating area, roof coverage and how much direct airflow you want all affect where the fan works best.
20-Inch Width With a 17-Inch Hanging Height
The complete fixture measures approximately 20 inches across and 17 inches from the top of the hook assembly to the bottom of the cage.
Greyen uses a hanging hook mount, and the current specification lists ceiling-slope compatibility up to approximately 30°. Measure the available height and surrounding clearance before installation.
A Ceiling Fan With No Lights Built In
Greyen does not include an LED panel, bulb socket or separate light kit. It is intended to provide airflow while your existing porch lights, wall lights, string lights or other outdoor fixtures handle illumination.
Keeping the fan and lighting separate also lets you position Greyen based on where airflow is needed instead of placing it around a lighting requirement.
Is Greyen Right for Your Outdoor Space?
Greyen Is a Good Fit If
- You want a compact 20-inch outdoor fan.
- You prefer an enclosed metal cage.
- You need IPX4 outdoor protection.
- You want a simple 3-speed control.
- You prefer plug-in power instead of a traditional hardwired fan connection.
- You already have separate outdoor lighting.
- You are installing on a patio, porch, gazebo or pergola.
Consider Another Fan If
- You need a built-in light.
- You want remote control.
- You need reversible airflow.
- You want a timer or smart-home controls.
- You need a flush-mount fan.
- Your project requires a larger conventional blade span.
- You do not have a suitable outdoor power outlet near the installation point.
What to Check Before Ordering
- Measure the 20-inch width and 17-inch hanging height. Make sure the complete cage will have enough clearance from walls, beams and furniture.
- Confirm a secure ceiling mounting point. The hook and ceiling hardware must be mounted to a structure suitable for supporting the fan.
- Check the outlet location. The supplied power cord is approximately 9 feet long.
- Use an appropriate outdoor electrical connection. The plug, receptacle and surrounding electrical installation should match the requirements of the outdoor location.
- Check the ceiling angle. The current product specification lists compatibility up to approximately 30°.
- Plan separate lighting. Greyen does not include a light.
- Choose the fan location based on airflow. Do not rely on a single square-foot figure when planning a patio or gazebo installation.
- Read the product manual before installation. Follow the current mounting, electrical and operating instructions supplied with the fan.
