Choosing a 60- or 72-Inch Fan for a Large Room
The current product graphics show approximately 300–450 sq. ft. for the 60-inch model and 400–600 sq. ft. for the 72-inch model. These ranges are useful starting points, but the final choice should also account for room shape, ceiling height, furniture layout and where the fan will actually be mounted.
A large room ceiling fan with lights needs enough open ceiling area for the full blade sweep. In a living room, check clearance from walls, beams, cabinets, pendant lights and tall furniture; the 72-inch version naturally needs more space around the blade tips than the 60-inch model.

The 40048-BK uses a 60-inch blade span, giving it a large visual presence without taking up as much horizontal space as the 72-inch model. The result is a 60 inch black ceiling fan with light that can stay fully black or add a warmer wood-grain accent by reversing the blades.
72 Inch Ceiling Fan With Light and Remote
The 40050-BK extends the blade span to 72 inches for rooms with more open ceiling area. Choose it when the larger blade sweep can clear nearby walls, beams, lighting and furniture while still maintaining the required installed height.

Reversible Blade Finish
Reversible Black and Wood-Grain Blades
Each of the eight plywood blades has a black face and a wood-grain face. Show the black side for a more uniform look, or turn the wood-grain side downward to soften the contrast against the matte-black motor housing.
That two-sided finish gives the fan more flexibility in modern and transitional interiors. It works as a large modern ceiling fan with light without locking the room into an all-black palette. The eight-blade layout shapes the overall look, but blade count by itself should not be used to assume a specific airflow level.
