Plan the Downrod, Clearance and Electrical Setup
Use the included 5-inch or 10-inch downrod only after checking the final blade height and surrounding clearance in your room. The manual requires at least 7.5 ft (2.3 m) from the trailing edge of the blades to the floor, calls for a fan-supporting outlet box capable of supporting at least 35 lb (15.9 kg), and states that electrical installation should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician.
The manual also says not to use a solid-state fan-speed control or variable rheostat wall control. Before ordering, confirm the ceiling structure, final blade height and the downrod length you plan to use, then follow the model-specific manual during installation.
